The North McPherson STEAM Foundation is led by a team of accomplished Alabama State University alumni who are passionate about expanding access to high-quality STEM education and creating opportunities for the next generation of innovators.

Together, our team brings expertise in education, science, business, and community engagement—working collectively to deliver impactful, hands-on learning experiences for students.

Tieka North

Founder & Executive Director

Tieka North is a passionate STEM educator with over 9 years of teaching experience across multiple disciplines, including chemistry, biology, physical science, digital agronomy, and STEM. She is both a Project Lead The Way educator and an FAA-certified drone pilot, bringing cutting-edge, real-world applications into student learning experiences.

A graduate of Alabama State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology, Tieka founded the North McPherson STEAM Foundation to bridge the gap between traditional education and hands-on, career-connected learning. Through her leadership, the foundation continues to expand opportunities for students to explore technology, engineering, and agriculture in meaningful ways.

Ebony Fields

Secretary & Marketing Director

Ebony Fields brings strategic vision and creative expertise to the foundation’s outreach and engagement efforts. With a degree in Business Marketing from Alabama State University, she leads the development of marketing initiatives that increase visibility, strengthen community partnerships, and expand program reach.

Her innovative approach to communication and branding ensures that the foundation’s mission resonates with families, partners, and supporters across the community.

Tiffany Presley

Financial Secretary

Tiffany Presley plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the foundation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a Health Science focus from Alabama State University and brings a strong attention to detail and organizational excellence to her role.

She oversees financial operations, ensuring that resources are managed responsibly and effectively to support program growth and long-term impact.
